Student member who have passed/been exempted all Core Principle series (CS 1 & CS2, CM1 & CM2,CB1,CB2,CB3) and all Core Application series (CP1 to CP3) subjects is eligible (on application) to become Associate Member of the Institute.
This is to inform you that the Change of Category (COC) application process has been transitioned entirely to an online mode.
Members who meet the eligibility criteria for Associateship are requested to log in to their IAI account and access the 'Change of Category' module to submit their applications.
Please note the following:
- It is mandatory to fill in all required details accurately.
- The applicable fees must be remitted online during the application process.
- Offline applications will no longer be accepted.

Once the application is accepted and approved by the competant authority, a communication will be sent to the student member informing their inclusion in the member's list. A certificate will be awarded at the next Global Actuarial Conference/ Virtual Actuarial Conclave.
- Pan card & Aadhar card copy, if resident of India
- Passport or the National id of the country of which the member is citizen, if the nonresidents in India.
- Performance Reports for all the subjects (self-attested soft copy)
- IAI Exemption letters - If you got exemption in any subjects (self-attested soft copy)
- Examination History (self-attested soft copy)
- Credit Mapping letter (self-attested soft copy)
- Academic qualification certificates
- Work experience certificates.
