1. What's the IAI SOA IFRI Certificate Program?

Answer: It's a collaboration between the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) and the Society of Actuaries (SOA), offering comprehensive learning in the principles and practices of financial reporting under IFRS17 standards, particularly for the insurance sector.

2. Who should consider this program?

Answer: This program is designed for individuals actively involved in IFRS implementation within the insurance sector. It's also beneficial for professionals working with actuarial or finance functions, especially in insurance companies, financial, accounting, and audit firms.

3. How is the program structured?

Answer: It's a five-month program, including six e-learning online modules, two half-day virtual instructor-led seminars, and a final assessment. Successful participants receive a professional certificate jointly from IAI and SOA 

4. How many hours does it take to complete the e-learning module?

Answer: Typically, each e-learning module requires approximately 20-30 hours for completion.

5. Who can register for the certificate program?

Answer: Any IAI member and non-member resident in India can register for the certificate program. (While the program is open to non-members, it is recommended that candidates possessing strong understanding of actuarial, or accounting concepts only register for the course. A formal qualification in actuarial science, accounting or finance will be desirable). 

6. How much does the certificate program cost?

7. When does the 1st program start and how long does it last?

Answer: The program is expected to start in January 2024, (access of e-learning modules will be from 22nd January to 22nd June 2024), with live virtual seminar and assessment in June 2024.

8. What is the mode of conduct of the certificate program?

Answer: Online.

9. Is there a certification exam at the end of the program?

Answer: Yes

10. How do I register?

Answer: Click Here: https://elearning.actuariesindia.org/ . The registrations are on first-come-first-served basis. You can register online, and instructions will be sent upon successful registration.

11. Who will be the instructors for the Seminar?

Answer: The seminars will be led by fellow members of IAI who are highly proficient and knowledgeable in their respective specialized fields.

12. Are there any prerequisites for joining the program?

Answer: No specific prerequisites are required, but a background in actuarial, finance, accounting or related fields is beneficial.

13. How will the online sessions be conducted, and what platform will be used?

Answer: The online sessions will be conducted using a dedicated e-learning platform. Participants will receive detailed instructions on accessing and participating in the virtual sessions.

14. What is the recommended device for accessing the modules?

Answer: For an enhanced user experience, it is recommended to access the modules using a computer/laptop rather than a mobile device.

15. Can a viewed video under the module be reviewed?

Answer: Yes, there are no review limitations. Registrants may move back and forth throughout the module as they wish.
